  1. In a large pot, place eggs in a single layer on the bottom carefully so they do not crack, and cover with about 1-2 inches of cold water. On your stove, bring the pot to a full, rolling, boil on high heat. Once the water starts boiling, keep the pan on the burner, cover, and let sit for 6-12 minutes (depending on egg preference). To stop the eggs from cooking further, strain the water from the saucepan and place in cold water ice bath for 10-15 minutes allowing to cool thoroughly before serving.
