Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil divided
  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced
  • 1 lb lo mein egg noodles cooked
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 bag frozen mixed stir-fry vegetables
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • green onions chopped for garnish
Beef stir fry sauce
  • 2 tbsp garlic ginger paste
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Equipment

Method

  1. First, season the flank steak with salt and pepper and toss with cornstarch and set aside.
  2. Next, put about 1 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a wok on medium high heat. Cook the beef in small batches until browned, or about 3 minutes per side. Once browned, set aside.
  3. Next, add your vegetables to the wok and cook for about 5 minutes with the remaining vegetable oil. Remove and set aside.
  4. Now, make your sauce. Combine the sauce ingredients except for the corn starch in a bowl and mix well. Add the sauce to the wok and bring to a simmer. While the sauce reaches a simmer, combine the cornstarch with about 2-3 tablespoons of water and then slowly whisk into the sauce. Allow to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes. Add the vegetables and beef back to the wok and cook until fully heated through. Serve over egg noodles.
